Spectre is as exceptional as her mother and has the darker eye and tighter feet I bred her for. She stands 22 3/4", is very square with a nice short back, excellent top line, good shoulder, and fantastic, tight little feet. Her head is lovely and carries beautiful expression. Her movement is as described in the Breed Standard: "Lively and graceful, covering the maximum ground with minimum effort. Always in motion, seemingly never tiring, she shows ease of movement rather than hard driving action." She has clean movement coming and going with a genuine single track gait.

Spectre is a sweet, energetic girl. She's usually in motion and is obsessed with retrieving tennis balls, toys, bones, pieces of toys or whatever happens to be on the living room floor that we might throw for her. If we go to the park she systematically brings all the people there her ball. She chooses someone and drops the ball between their front feet. She backs up, tail wagging, and looks sweetly up at them. Few people can refuse that sweet face looking up at them. When someone gets tired of throwing it for her, she moves on to the next sucker, um, person. They have about 45 seconds to comply before she becomes impatient and moves on to someone else.

She has incredible focus and is very enthusiastic about doing whatever it is I ask of her. She's a wonderful working dog. From hiking to the breed ring, to obedience, to working sheep she's excited about everything her people are involved in. We took a beginning agility class and she flew threw learning the obstacles so quickly that at the advice of the instructor, we dropped the class and took an intermediate class instead. Too bad I don't learn that quick... we'd be competing already!

She completed her CD easily in three shows. Our obedience judge at the Longmont show commented, "She looks like a gun ready to go off. I can tell at this point you're just trying to keep a lid on her. She's really going to be an amazing obedience dog. I love her enthusiasm. I know a number of obedience people that would kill for a dog like that!"

I entirely agree. She still has some maturing to do, but she's well on her way to a phenomenal career in multiple events. Coming Soon: American Belgian Tervuren Club Versatility Award.

NEWS FLASH: Spectre finished her Rally Obedience Excellent title with three class placements. She is now working on her CDX, NA, and NAJ titles, though she'll be taking maternity leave early in 2009.
